At age 25, too! I'm forever struck by how much more criticism boxing comes in for than football. In boxing, the competitors are facing each other and attempting to protect themselves at all times. In football, hits by armored opponents that have a running start can come at any time from any direction, when players are focused on all sorts of other things.

Yeah, football is really rough. Look at football obituaries. How often do you see a pro football player older than about 65 die? Not often, because most don't make it that far. It really takes its toll.

probably cause the idea in football is to score touchdowns - in boxing it's to knock the other guy unconscious?

Exactly--I prefer a sport that is upfront about what's going on!
